There are a few different ways how to share apple tv with family. One way is to share your login information with them so that they can access your account and watch whatever you have purchased or rented.
Another way is to use the family sharing feature built into the Apple TV. This allows you to share your content with six other family members who have their own Apple IDs.
What Happens When You Share A Subscription With Your Family?
In addition to Apple TV+, Apple services like Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, and more may be shared by you and five family members. Everyone in the family sees their preferences and suggestions when you distribute subscriptions. Family members can’t view one other’s images or files when you share an iCloud+ subscription.
Make Sure You’re Subscribed To Apple TV+
For Family Sharing to operate properly, at least one user must be a subscriber to Apple TV+. You don’t have to bother about this step if you’re already one of those people who’ve signed up. For the following stages, you will need to sign in with their Apple account if it’s someone else.
Step 1: Sign up for Apple TV+ if no one in your family has done so already. To get started, click here.
Step 2: In the second step, Apple provides a free seven-day trial, after which a $5 monthly cost is required. You can also get a free TV+ subscription if you buy an Apple product.
Step 3: You may now receive three months of free Apple TV+ with a new iPhone or MacBook.
Set up Family Sharing On Your Apple account
Set up Family Sharing now that Apple TV+ is up and running.
Step 1: Begin by selecting your name/icon in the settings of an Apple device.
On MacOS, the processes are quite similar. However, it would help if you first went to System Preferences to begin. You can’t do this with Apple TV.
Step 2: Your Apple account should include an option to learn more about Family Sharing, which allows you to create a family account. To proceed, choose this option.
Add family members to Family Sharing.
Is there a way to add a second person to my Apple TV subscription? If so, now is the time to do it! To get started, you’ll need to activate Family Sharing.
Step 1: To get started, choose either Invite People for those with an Apple ID or Create an Account for a Child (under 13s can’t create an account of their own without parental consent).
Step 2: A new member may be added by providing their name and email address. To join your group, they’ll need to accept your invitation. At this point, you may follow any further setup steps.
Step 3: No worries, you can always go back and add more members if necessary using the Add Member option in step three. “Organizer” is the title that will appear on your Family Sharing account.
Make sure Apple TV+ is enabled for Family Sharing.
Step 1: Apple TV+ subscriptions must be selected during the first setup process. TV Channels may be activated or disabled at any moment by looking under Shared Features.
Step 2: Using the Shared Features section of Apple TV+, you can also find out who the initial subscriber was.
You may want to check out Screen Time, which lets you monitor how much time your kids spend on their Apple devices and set limitations on certain applications like Apple TV+ to prevent issues.
Step 3: For Apple TV+, it’s not a good idea for other family members to be able to make extra purchases. You can only add premium channels like Showtime or Starz to your TV+ subscription by purchasing them separately. If someone signs up for these, your account will be charged.
Have Family Members Sign In To Apple TV+
Members of Apple TV+ should now be able to begin enjoying the service. Have them log into Apple TV+ with their Apple ID credentials to see whether it works. They ought should be able to log in and begin viewing right away.
Can you share Apple TV with another Apple ID outside of the family?
Sure! You don’t have to be related to participate in “Family Sharing,” which is merely a moniker. All you need to send them an invitation is their email address and name. Only six persons (including the Organizer) are allowed to participate in a Family Sharing plan at a time. When building up the list, make sure you choose wisely since there is no option to enlarge it.
